Since 1996, Usine C has been a dynamic local and international creation and exhibition hub in Montreal’s Centre-Sud district. It includes two exhibition spaces with capacities of 440 and 120 people, a rehearsal studio, an exhibition hall and a café. Founded by the Carbone 14 research and creation company, Usine C was ahead of its time when it offered a multidisciplinary program of hybrid works at the intersection of theatre, dance, music and media arts. It presents Québécois, Canadian and foreign contemporary dance artists, provides space for artistic residencies, organizes professional talks and post-performance discussions with dancers, and hosts workshops and master classes in collaboration with Montreal-based choreography centres such as Circuit-Est and Studio 303.
