L'Expoétique is a temporary work by Claire Renaud, bringing art to the alleyway behind St. Jax Church. Inspired by her work as a theatrical props master and miniature-maker, Renaud creates collages of objects that give passers-by space for poetic openness in their everyday lives.
Gleaned from her studio and thrift shops, the objects and characters seen in her works are entirely reclaimed and reclaimable: arranged differently, they could tell countless other stories, limited only by the viewer’s imagination.
L’Expoétique is an ode to intuition, artistic simplification and accessibility, and the infiltration of poetry into urban space.
