Créer des ponts – Cube sur l'art
Complexe Desjardins, 150 Sainte-Catherine St. W.
Open in google mapFrom July 15 to October 15, 2021
A unique art walk that invites you to rediscover the neighbourhood through art.
CRÉER DES PONTS is an ambitious initiative spearheaded by the Art Souterrain organization, in partnership with the Ville de Montréal. It consists of a three-month creative workshop in the heart of downtown Montreal for up-and-coming artists.
Ten exhibition boxes will be placed at various locations around the island, displaying exceptional contemporary artworks. The rectangular semi-transparent boxes are designed to be display cases with multiple facets for the public to explore.
Outside its Sainte-Catherine Street entrance, Complexe Desjardins will host one of the works, a piece by Myriam Simard Parent.
Using a naïve aesthetic, the artist designs standalone and performative objects made mainly from wood or metal. Several of these objects are arranged inside the box to form an installation resembling a sculptural still-life.
